Least I'm not alone in my thoughts.

Just didn't want to post my opinion in their actual thread to shit on them, but if they're going to ask $2k they should at least make it worth it.

I like a lot of their stuff, these seem poorly thought out IMHO though. They charge double what an equally well built competitor is offering and added $.40 worth of steel tabs as the main benefit. The alignment bonus is what makes the solos worth it, they sweeten the deal with good bushings and a bit more sturdy than stock construction... but the main feature is the alignment. The stock arms aren't a common failure point, so just beefing them for $2k is dumb.

Exactly. And yeah I've heard good things about the bushings as well.

Haven't messed with Solo's but my favorite bushings so far come from Sonoran Steel by Strong Flex (out of Poland).

@Speedytech7 i saw you saying you go through a lot of racks on another thread. My steering feels kinda loose and sloppy so I’m wondering if mine is going out. It does leak of course but I’ve been topping it off.

Yeah leaking isn't the cause of death of any of mine, but they've all leaked haha. I've deformed them internally before and shredded the passenger and driver side internal bushings (makes them loose)

I haven’t noticed any fluid on the boots. It might be mostly leaking from the reservoir and hoses honestly. I’m gonna try adding some Lucas stop leak I think.

Don't put stop leak in there, it swells the seals and it can take out the ones in the rack. The reservoirs can leak so can the control valve on the top of the rack. Just leaking isn't a concern really unless the pump is whining

I wonder if mine might be bent or something cause of the sloppy steering, or maybe just shot bushings.

I’ve heard it whining a bit but topping it off seemed to fix that.

Check the external rubber bushings first, they're the easiest to replace and fail the most often

What Zane said, never use stop leak on anything.

Just making sure, you've only ever used ATF in your power steering right?

I was reading how the retainers or whatever can get bent and cause that too so idk. I also saw you saying a 2nd gen steering rack would be an interesting swap.

I keep chucking the internal bushing on the pass side when i kill racks and it results in audible/visible clunking. Maybe I curb that side more :notsure:

Same yo, but junkyard racks are surprisingly cheap, I've got two spares ATM

Does anyone want a disassembled rack that's a good candidate for rebuild? Since I bought a new one, anyone here can just have it if they pay for shipping
