After he receives his plates (just shipped), can report back regarding fitment.

Holes are 1/2" diameter (adding. 02" to make up for kerf width).

If that tree falls that place is fubar. Though I do like the design.

In the 6 years we've lived in our neighborhood at least 3 trees right on our street have fallen. 2 hit the street, no property damage.. and one got removed by the city as it was about to fall. Our neighbor has a huge oak tree that goes over our yard, if that thing ever fell in our direction it would not be good for us lol.

We get a real bad wind storm once or twice a year and it's always in the back of my mind. I think all the rain we got this winter made it worse too this year

I had a large chunk of one fall into my backyard this spring. Shook the whole house when it fell. My neighbor has one with a bad lean towards her house, shes mentioned that it worries her but has yet to do anything about it. :notsure:

yikes yeah she should get that looked at sooner than later. The first time I remember one happening it was our neighbor down the street, same thing...I was inside then heard this huge drawn out cracking sound followed by big thud that shook the ground.

I'm just thinking of ideas. I think I still owe you measurements myself. There's no real traction bar setups out there for the Tacoma so trying to think of something that will work.

There's a few diy kits that you could whip up. Ruffstuff and Barnes both offer super simple kits.

I saw the tough country kit and it was junk  I may need to buy a cal tracks kit for something and modify it to work. Or go SOA and throw some old school slappers on it!

    Historic plates and 2 bar
So instead of a traction bar how about a spring perch mounted between the axle driveshaft input and the frame and removing a leaf :ballchain::burp:

edit: wow that was a coincidence, didn't realize that was currently a topic
