You could be right. Honestly I really wish I could have an old solid axle mini truck with the better Tacoma engines.

Dont trade your 80 for a damn single cab! Just sell it for cheapish. What is a single cab 1st gen out there? like 8k?

They can be surprisingly expensive since they don’t make shortbed regular cab pickups that weigh 3000 lbs like that anymore.

Yeah some have come up for that much, and yeah I'd want cash on top but what I've been offered are more 2nd Gen Prerunners than anything else

I'd take a 2nd Gen single cab (and swap it) but nothing has come up

Naw he's right, they're relatively cheap

Just the few I've found only want to sell theirs

I liked the 3RZ. It’s a fun little engine on the trails and had better torque off the line than the 5VZ I thought, or maybe it was just cause the single cab was lighter.

The g wagon is that in suv. Have you priced them? I know @m3bassman says they can be had for 18k out there but he is in that scene. 25k seems to be the number. Looking for one now. Its crazy. Some are 45k for a damn 2002

2nd gen diff. They are pricey right now.

I'm not excluding the 3RZ either, it'd have to be a manual though

Are the 2nd gen diffs a lot stronger than the 7.5s we have? If I’m not mistaken it’s the same diff as a 100 series so maybe it’s really overbuilt for a pickup.

I love the OG G wagers with the diesel engines and cable lockers. They’re crazy money tho.

They can just have oiling issues sometimes in steep inclines and weird angles off road. I think maybe because of the balance shafts?

    Lol. I mean different.

I would get a g wagon and have a diesel in that bitch over the weekend. Same as toyota. They go right in.
