Heat up your surroundings critically and see how you behave, just look at the people in AZ.

I would think it would have the basic functions of today's drones that fly back to the launch location when the battery and oxygen get below a defined level.

On the other hand, I guess I do put a lot of faith in a complete stranger to not kill me while piloting a 90,000lb chunk of flying metal 30,000 ft up in the sky

It seems unlikely for it to just fall off the map completely if it’d sunk or drifted away. That makes me think it must’ve imploded after some sort of structural failure.

Why do you think that would be unlikely?

It just seems like they’d be able to locate it if it were still intact. I suppose the electronics could’ve failed or something though.

The Humpback eating the kayakers story keeps popping up on my Google feed. I blame this one completely on the kayakers for getting to close.

The video of that is crazy, it really looked like they both got swallowed by the whale.

I haven't seen the video yet I have to go look.
I was trying to get Monica to go kayaking in Montaray next time we go down there but apparently there is a pod of orcas in the bay. So that will never happen in

Bear in mind that the Titanic sunk in 1912 and wasn't found until 1985 even though they knew roughly where it was. This sub is tiny compared to that ship so it may be next to impossible to locate on the oven floor. Our Naval submarines only go to about 3000ft max, and this submersible, if on the bottom, is almost two miles below that. Most people struggle to wrap their minds around how big the ocean is, how strong the currents down deep are, and just how few resources we have to explore at those depths.
