And on the first day, Daimler-Chrysler said “Let there be light.”

    And it was good.

Think of what two parts here are relative to each other and what that rod is attached to. It goes from a frame mounted valve to the axle. The frame got farther from the axle when you lifted it so you should put the rod bracket on the BPV whatever height makes it what it was before, often thats when the non curved portion of the rod is parallel to the ground.

I thought it was about how much Zane endorses KO2s :boink:

Makes sense. Does putting it at the max setting improve brake performance, as @JKO1998 said?

Yes and no, yes you'll have more braking power sent to the rear drums. But you may exceed your traction given how light the rear is. Brakes that lock up tend to stop worse than brakes that slow the wheel down with the load. So yes in some circumstances it would stop harder, but you can only brake as much as your traction will allow. Hence the prop valve in the rear

Not to disagree with our Logan, UT brother... I suggest going with what Zane suggested. Level it out. Remember, rear brakes account for just a fraction of your stopping power. You want them functional but you don't want to mess with the intended design. It senses the amount of load in the bed of the truck and adjusts from there. That is the purpose of that BPV. At least that is how it was explained to me. Good luck Lestat.

    Really, Mercedes?

The two pins on the base are slightly offset on the aftermarket bulb.

I think they bulb socket on was just corroded or loose or something. I re-seated the old one back and it’s flashing bright again.

Okay, now onto the trailer. Took me forever to find the license plate bulb and some light bulb. They are some obscure ass bulbs.

You know, jacking up my trailer door for five minutes actually fixed the sag. Strange.

I’ll be ordering new hinges for it, these hinges are wobbly as hell. I’ll reinforce it with some steel as @mechanicjon suggested as well.

Speaking of lights... I swear, I'm going to end up - to use an older term - "going postal" on the next fck I see with blinding LEDs in some 90s Honda Accord or any other vehicle with Halogen housings! :censored: Damn tired of being blinded.

Whoever built this trailer were a bunch of morons. The dome light never worked because it didn’t have a ground. I added a ground with a little jumper lead and it works perfectly now.

That light, by design, is made to be grounded through the metal base with screws.

But the people who installed it in the trailer just screwed it to wood. Not metal.
