Ya my gf and I each have one, and she has a bird, and I have outdoor fish. Once her cat dies I think I'll get a dog because it's already a tight space to add another family member

Lol no and neither is my gf. The cat is 15, barely eats, just sleeps in a closet all day and comes out for like an hour at night, and occasionally pees next to the clean catbox rather than in it... just a nuisance really.

I built a whole cat box thing in my laundry room closet for the two of them when gf moved in, but now we have her own in the master bath where we get to walk around it and step on cat litter all the time because my cat would (half-assedly) gatekeep her

When I lived in FL - the city of Boca Raton made a new rule for all new construction:
If the lot was X size, the house had to occupy 0.80X [eg 80% of the entire lot size]
Why oh why might you ask . . . . well, fatter houses = fatter tax $$ for the city of Boca Raton
F**k people not wanting to live on top of each other, we need more $$revenue$$ for the goberment to :jerkoff: with

My current property tax situation is a laughable joke compared to what most people pay; $2K a year and no HOA bullshit.

Those TX property taxes sounded awful - no income tax has an effect on property tax rates 100%
Goberment gotta get paid one way or the other

Oof yeah, I know a couple folks in CA with 30k a year property tax and I'm like... damn... 3500ish usually. Good luck with that 30k situation haha

    How the F?

Unless they are wealthy and have million dollar homes.

We paid what, $3200 total for the year as we've been here a year and a half now at the new house.

    Other house is less.

Sorry I think $3600 but still.

Easily 5 times less than Texas.

I'm just grateful AZ has an annual cap on how much the levy increase can be with respect to the assessed value otherwise it would have more than doubled over the last 3 years.

We got 'waived' what would've been an extra $800 or so because of our signing date and the rise in value on our property.

But we'll still be at less than $4k I expect so not bad here at all.

Texas is ridiculous about their shit.

Then for some of you here with college debt, I think that bill still moved forward on loan forgiveness?

Spokane Co is like that too, the levy is capped at 1% per year

I think I would have to buy. My body isn't too happy about wrenching much these days so it would take me far too many years. Right now I'm kicking my own ass for starting to do LCA bushings on the Tacoma instead of just dropping it off at a shop because it's gonna be torn apart for a couple weeks now

The truggy is pretty much sorted in terms of major issues. I just worry about breaking on the trail and being too exhausted to fix it myself lol
