Oh yeah it’ll definitely be removable, I like having a flatbed too much to do something like this permanently

Wouldn't be that hard to make some removable sides, already have the slots to side them in.

get some more bleacher seats and weld or bold some c channel to them

I’ve got a set of harbor freight aluminum ramps in my possession for experiments. i can make them work, but it would be 15” taller.

So the shell is useless otherwise? you could design a drawer system that elevates it to the proper height when placed on top
    So 2 modular pieces

Cramped and uncomfortable basically. It's quick and easy and secure from weather but I found it a bit tedious. Even with a small platform you can't sit up in the 1st gen haha, so you gotta roll and inchworm around. I built a quick one then bagged the idea after a few tests.

ahhh yeah that was my concern as well. I definitely can't sit up in my buddy's frontier shell...

That sounds like a pretty exhausting experience lol

the cab height camper on the Ford is tall enough that I have 8" of headroom while sitting in the bed. I think with a thin mattress I'll be ok

Yep! I don't know how these people with crazy sleeping bed platform builds do it. Or the thicker drawers systems and sleeping on top of those. Every late night pee would be annoying.

Apparently Ford is even nice enough to have a factory 3rd brake light wire under the bed so I don't have to do too much to make that work

I paid $750 and they installed it for me. Looks like I got a pretty good deal, MSRP was $2750 or so from what I can find online

Hard to watch with ADD, but I feel like freshmen in high school should be coming into this between Levels 2 and 3. Especially with media focusing heavily on these concepts and Hawking dying recently.
Personally I seem to have skipped over level 4 somehow and gotten more of level 5.

Moral of the story is: it's gravity.

You’re reminding me of helping move around an 8 foot SnugTop shell for my friends superduty. SnugTops are always heavier than the other brands too.
