Welp, trucks at the firestone I got the slug's headgasket done at. The same tech who did it left a year or so ago the manager said due to travel distance. He's confident in the lead tech they got now. Will keep everyone updated, tried to give them a list of all that's been done so far

I've got 5k left from the slugs insurance pay off, doubt this fix will exceed my funds lol. Really excited to start enjoying this truck soon

I need new headers as there is a small crack in mine that appears at startup. Doug Thorley headers are a common item. I guess I'll replace mine with some DT headers.
I would like to have a nonmetal intake just to keep down intake temps. There is a huge debate about 12 hole injectors vs. 6 hole. I don't think it proved anything.

A thing that I do when I first get a vehicle with over 150,000 miles is to replace the O2 sensors. That usually gives a nice improvement in driving around town ad sometimes better mileage.

Did you ever take it on any actual steep slopes?

My 80 felt extremely controlled and I went slowly allowing the suspension to do all the work; mind you I had no lift either.

I haven't looked at them at all; wrote them off thinking they lack a CARB EO sticker for CA. If they are compliant, then I'll look into a set maybe.

Be curious to see you install a set when you do.

I wouldn't replace injectors on an NA unless I knew mine were having issues.

GX is on its "need nothing" cycle at the moment as the o2 sensors were replaced when the exhaust manifold/CAT was replaced. I pulled up the part number to see the previous owner paid almost $200 more than McGeorge was selling it for.

Yea I didn’t make it up one and I had to back up very carefully. It felt like it might roll if I turned too hard.

Ah yeah see I never felt that, and I was in areas where the 4R did actually lift up on 3 wheels a few times.

The LC remained planted as I pushed it even more to get it to tip.

Have to remember a vehicle won't just suddenly tip over; if you have that fear then you'll never truly be able to test your rig. Especially true if you take it nice and slow watching your wheel placement.

I see some rigs here that flex like crazy, but those people have enough experience with their rig to know what their limits are. This helps to exercise the best line to take, or the most difficult one as a personal challenge.

Do you happen to have the coordinates of the location for the trail? I've most likely driven it. The pictures look very familiar. Though I think the creeks are full of water when I cross. The retractable mirrors on the LX470 along with a short wheelbase let me get through tight places like a 4Runner. I know that I will need to change my OR style to be a bit more mild with the LC. The LX was better suited for the tight Ozarks trails. Also, note that I have a 3:1 gear reduction in 4L and the front locker. The rear LSD diff still worked.

Some guy in a Nissan Frontier went up and had to turn around. I heard his wheels spinning up there while I was having lunch, probably in the same spot where I had some trouble. A Subaru maybe could’ve made it if you really sent it and didn’t care avoid body damage. I wouldn’t have wanted to try without low range though.

I remember @Empty_Lord saying the 1MZ was a leaker at one point. They also sludge up if you skimp on the oil changes apparently. They’re pretty sturdy overall though I think.

Lol ATs and HTs don’t cut it here after a rain, when the trails are slick. Maybe aired down to 15 PSI, but then you risk a puncture if they’re not 10 ply.
