I have the title, and it is signed to me. But California being California requires you to get a SMOG check before you transfer.

It’s never left the state. It sat in a garage for a year since the PO got a new car, as a result the battery ran down and erased the readiness monitors.

The solution is to drive it, but I can’t insure it since it’s not in my name fully. So it is in Limbo.

I got a temporary moving permit from the DMV last week so I plan to drive it attempting to get the sensors ready so I can get it smog’d.

It's similar, but HOAs are generally FAR more restrictive. The county/city regulations usually have much broader applicability, and also have public input (go to your next county/city supervisor's meeting). HOAs can regulate when you put your trash cans out and what color you're allowed to paint your house, and what plants you can plant in your BACK yard.

There are literally THOUSANDS of laws/regulations in every state in the nation that deal with the fact that just because it's your property doesn't mean you get to do ANYTHING you want to/with it. Most of it has to do with how we don't live in a vacuum, and our actions don't just effect us, but our neighbors too.

I hear you can't even play loud music 24 hours a day or operate a car repair business out of your garage.

I'm not busting your balls here, just offering a different perspective. My wife deals with this stuff every damn day. She will be the first to admit that there are a LOT of dumb rules, and truth be told most of those "dumb ones" aren't really enforced unless they get a complaint. My wife goes after the human traficing and safety violations (building/health/safety codes) before anything else. She could give to shits if your fence is 2" too high, but if she gets a complaint, she HAS to follow through. For most of those cases she always wonders "what did you do to piss off your neighbor?" lol...

Dude if I won 1.6 billion I'll buy all you guys trucks. Just the interest I'd make in a year would probably easily cover that

I’ve sent two or three samples to them. From them receiving it, it’s about a week.

Holy crap what a difference Ceramic pads make. A fly good bring my truck to a halt. Really touchy on the pedal. I love it. My dad wants to do the same thing to his 2nd gen.
