Looking through some stuff packed away, I found my LC owner's manual

    20230823_092614.jpg

With the exception of a little fading on the outside, it's in excellent shape

    Yeah fuck that

I'm 99.9% sure I have the 4Runner and Tacoma owner manuals as well; the 4Runner was still in that plastic book sleeve not to mention having the business card for both the salesman and manager of the selling dealership

    I don't mean to

Whenever I get a vehicle, the first thing I do is clear everything out

Whenever I get rid of a vehicle, first thing I do is clear everything out

Manual never goes back in once I take it out which is why I end up with so many :anonymous:

I had to bust out the Tacoma's owners manual yesterday, some dude on the 1st gen FB page was giving me shit for saying there aren't car seat anchors in the back seats of the xtra cab...there aren't, you have to use the seat belt. Anchors are in the front passenger seat.

"oh I guess the owner's manual is lying then huh"

guess who the dirty liar was

I keep my manuals in the trucks/cars. It's still a decent reference if nothing else. Found one in the junkyard for the Corolla and I had to buy a sketchy reprint for the LC off rock auto. Taco came with it's manual thankfully.

No shit, I mean do people not understand how things change as research and development takes place?

I was surprised how nice and tight the seat base sat in the Land Cruiser; just because it had no anchor doesn't mean it can't be secured just as well

I do prefer the anchors because the seat belt always leaves the car seat a little more wiggly than the anchors do. The 4runner doesn't have car seat anchors in it unfortunately, being a 96 they weren't a common thing then I guess. Have to use the seat belt and it's not nearly as rock solid as using the anchors in the Tacoma or Rebecca's Rav4. Luckily it has those tie downs in the back though so I can loop the top strap of her toddler seat back to the tie down in the cargo area and that really tightens it down.

They used to, dunno if they still do. It's not the best, pages are clearly scanned, not all of them are printed straight haha.

You know what though, could be good to just keep in the vehicle and keep the original at home

Some people really find value in those things when buying a used car

The GX came with one and a shit ton of receipts

Dang, the LC one was crazy secure. Then again it also latches onto the lap belt portion to keep constant tension on it or something.

Y'all getting your new vehicle anytime soon?

I consider it like the keys, fobs, and floor mats. It should stay with the damn vehicle. There's zero reason to remove it and it can be invaluable for some things. Plus like any other printed work, there are revisions and buying a reprint doesn't guarantee you the same revision or really even model year (they can just change the cover page)
