I actually liked it a LOT. I'm probably going to jump back in now that it's cooling off again. It was way better than I was expecting by far. I mean seriously...fell right on my face - that headcrab was REAL.

    Right?! EFF that bread.

Have to say, I don't get scared really...but playing scary games with certain friends makes that shit just creepy AF

@Wulf and I kept struggling, and actually spent considerable time (dying a lot) trying to figure out the puzzles inside the backrooms

    No shit

So I ask because I've been a damn die hard HF fan playing everything from Valve

But Alyx is one I never committed to cause even though I could game like an hour or two on VR, I was worried I wouldn't enjoy it much due to constant moving and possible motion sickness

Flight Simulator on VR is a whole nother holy shit and it's crazy looking down while you're flying

Legit - I'm the first to get motion sick from playing games even at my desk. I can play plenty of Alyx without a problem. It is just GOOD. The controls are decent - at least with the Valve index. The first hour was probably me just playing with throwing things around and feeling like I was really there doing it.

    Fuuuck that's awesome

Yeah you're right, really comes down to the game itself

Dreadhalls was scary AF but no motion sickness

Superhot added a little, cause you're dodging bullets and moving about

Makes sense why Alyx is still $60 :bananadead:

I need to find a friend that has an Index just so I can play this game. I love all the Half Life games and have probably played them all more than 5 times. But I haven't been able to play Alyx yet cause I'm just not a big gamer anymore and especially not into VR.

eff - maybe a winter sale? jeez.

It is good though. I used to take dramamine just to play games with friends. Alyx is just good. Now you're making me want to play it again sooner...

I'm not big into gaming anymore either but Alyx for sure sucked me back in. I really wanted VR for beat saber and it was well worth it. Alyx was just a surprise.

    Be best to borrow one

I've had mine for yeeeeeeears but it's old and outdated; funny you mention it cause I've been seeing the model below the Oculus Pro, the Quest 2? Averages for $200

But unless you're gonna use it often, definitely not worth buying

Yep, it's been on the wishlist for awhile now lol

Goat Simulator too, just never pulled the trigger even when it was just a few dollars; been on there since 2014

Some games really just do not drop at all

VR stuff is hard on me, I wear glasses cause my vision is super miopic and VR shit is really hard for me to focus on.

We tried it at a friends house first -- I wish I used it more -- maybe I will again soon. Though training for a 100 mile race, playing hockey, and well LIFE -- eff it - beat saber is a workout right ;)

Awwwe shit yeah definitely sucks with glasses!

Damn, but newer versions are supposed to take that into account being all adjustable and stuff

Hopefully the Index works for you and you enjoy it!

I have a child's head - honestly. Wear kids sunnies and hats. I used to have to get barbie and tonka truck glasses before I got lasik. The VR goggles are still hard to get "small enough"

I don't know if it was more scary hearing you scream out of the blue, or getting killed by an entity
