It's less Tacoma and more mod
I don't accept returns on local crap, you have all the opportunity to inspect and research before handing me money. After handing me money your fate is sealed, don't want it anymore, sell it yourself.

Yeah I’ve ghosted people in the past over small items they claimed wouldn’t work. This is still relatively small compared to selling a truck or something.

He asked me to call him. I haven’t opened any of his messages. Doubt I will.

Yeah I wouldn't. Hopefully he doesn't try and show up if you did the transaction at your place. How long did he even have it before changing his mind?

I think I'm gonna start meeting people to sell stuff, then they don't know where I live

Unless I know them or at least know them well enough from online, I won't meet strangers at my place to sell stuff. Especially with kids now. Last couple things I sold on TW to members I didn't know I met them in the Lowes parking lot near my neighborhood

If it's something big like an engine in this case I guess yeah, not really much choice unless you want to haul it somewhere not knowing if they're even gonna buy it

This was a whole engine though. It’s very annoying to have to load a hoist and engine when I can’t even guarantee the buyer will show. I get you and with smaller stuff I’d do the same.

He said he’s coming by and I’m supposed to be showering and meeting someone for dinner in a bit.

Had a pretty frank conversation with this guy and his boss (they work at an auto repair place in a small surrounding city) that this was THEIR mistake and not mine. He asked if I’d send him $100 and I said absolutely not. Best I could do was pass his phone number on to some of my potential buyers before him and that’s it.

He asked what I did for work over the phone call. I told him that doesn’t really matter. He kept pressing and I guess he assumed a flipped cars for a living. Told him I don’t have the patience for that kind of work due to exactly this situation. Then I hung up.

I mean, you warned the guy and he insisted on taking it?

I'd probably tell him to fuck off especially if he's being so abrasive about everything. Assuming it was priced fairly enough for him to buy it in the first place there's no discounts for his mistake lol

I am assuming he wants a discount so he can turn around and sell it for the original agreed price and still "get paid"
