I want a Steam Deck buuuut the Ally is $200 off

 

That's great but the support, especially for controls is trash

Get a steam deck for games, get an Ally for a handheld computer

 

This is the push; I won't be tied to my PC so much in the bedroom when I'd rather be elsewhere in the house

 

It's inconvenient, really just get a good laptop if that's what you're after, or if you want to play all manner of games get a steam deck. The SteamOS can't be beat for compatibility and mods

Good laptop = money cause I'd want 2k gaming and an RTX4070 or equivalent

With a handheld (Steam Deck or Rog) the smaller screen will make the lower resolution negligible

Mods aren't in my future; many reviewers state the Steam Deck feels comfortable over long periods of play so that's a big push towards Valve

What model do you have exactly?

512gb, ain't much difference between steam deck models, get a refurb if you want a price break

Marketplace then, got mine for $300 with everything included

 

Yeah that's a steal

Out here they're all $350 and up and require driving a minimum half hour

$390 and I used two $20 certs

 

Worst case I hate it and take it back

Best case I enjoy it and hang out in the living room more often

 

i can see a strong case for enjoying it

i love chilling on the couch with the dogs and playing switch with a TV show on in the background to meet my adhd stimulation needs lol

Sometimes the occasional baby falls alseep on you too



Only problem with my Switch is, the games I want to play/own are on PC

 

yeeeaa you seem more like the PC gamer type

I'm into super casual gaming so Spyro and Mario kart are the majority of my play

 

See I miss having fun with games like those

Mario Kart is one of those I have to enjoy with other people in person

That and Mario Party
