    Just rock the 100

It's a bit newer, and if it's anything like the GX, will be comfy as hell to drive

It'd be easier to work on, namely cause parts aren't diesel-heavy

When Zane said that I was like hmm ok...and found out myself when I resorted to using only 1/2" drive sockets anytime I worked on it. Parts are heavy AF on that thing

I'd argue against your "reliability" statement though, my LC after 5 or so owners and some hack job wirings and leaks I had to fix, was always reliable

I blame the shit it had going wrong on previous backyard mechanics trying to fix shit incorrectly

I still don’t know why he hates the 100 and UZ so much lol, I mean it’s not like I’m gonna try to get big power out of it or anything.

It just made no sense for Toyota to do what they did with the 2UZ when compared to the 1UZ, so that argument is valid

Aside from that, I have no hate for it

    It's what I call an "old man's V8"

As for the 100 series itself, I don't know. I wouldn't wheel it cause it's huge and on IFS. I mean, tons of people wheel it successfully, I just wouldn't personally

The 80 series is huge but felt extremely controlled with how well the suspension articulated

As far as I can see the mpg is basically the same as a V6 Tacoma. At least you get more for it in a 100 though. More mass being moved.

I hope he doesn't get speeding tickets like me. I think the state trooper on I-40 has an eye out for sand colored 100 series.

The LX was getting 16 MPG on Colorado trips weighing 7,200 lbs. The Taco gets about the same mileage. The fuel tank on the 100 is larger.

I must have a lead foot then cause I'm getting the gas mileage you get now; meaning I'd get worse mileage in a bigger platform :bananadead:

I need to change the oil on the 02 100. It was freshly changed when I bought it. Its time. I'm in a quandary about the type of oil to use. The PO had it religiously serviced at a couple of dealers. This one doesn't leak a drop of oil. The LX had leaking valve covers.

I don't want to use some oil that will cause oil leaks or mess up the seals. For the first time in my life, I'm afraid to change the oil. What should I do?

If you ever need to do anything, there are all kinds of shortcuts that are not published on Mud that I can share. I can't remember his name right now, but there is a guy who publishes a lot of Tundra 2UZ videos that has saved me a lot of grief. I seriously look at many Mud instruction postings and think about how I can simplify something they often make look so complicated. I love it when they comment "well if this looks too complicated for ya" then you can bring it by the shop and we'll take care of it for you.
