Oooh that's a cheap project for sure

But I'm thinking of another small investment - either a Hypertherm, or a tube bender, or some other tool for the shop

I remember when you joined, and like a month later the thing was on 35s though. Got serious right away, made me want to do it.

I admire the hell out Dan and his approach to his rig in design, execution and actual use.

I was fresh off of a bad divorce and was no longer burdened by the ex as my ‘budget committee’. Thankfully, I still had a great job and a garage to do the work in, so I went for it.

I probably should have taken it slower in hindsight, but I truly regret nothing.

The truth is, I was basically @Ozark_RegCab early on (the posts in the early part of my thread prove it), so I somewhat sympathize with him. The difference being that my approach was to overbuild like a drunken engineer looking for more performance margin, not for any sort of fear of the stock truck failing. Experience, especially from wheeling with guys like Mike and Brett, taught me that the driver is ultimately the best mod out there, though, and I still have a ton to learn.

I’d take another 8.4” axle on the front if I had the budget to SAS. I don’t see many people doing that. Most seem to favor Dana axles.

it's because a wagoneer 44 can be had in the right width and drop for far less than it costs to build a yota axle of similar dimensions
