I was in college when the Buttery Jack came out and they would hand out coupons on campus, they basically handed us a booklet of them and we ate those for a month.

I made peace with it on the 04 many moons ago, then one day it just up and stopped and I haven't heard it in probably 3 years now.

I love it when issues fix themselves

Afternoon all, quick update and a question you guys should know the answer to.

Ive done quite a bit to the truck since the last we spoke, even paid the debt of changing a starter on the 5vz.

Here's some pics, but I'll grab better one's later once i take it out.

Question is, the last i replaced on the truck is the steering damper, i believe the alignment is shit bc i can only turn the wheel 1.5 turns to the left now, vs 2 on the right. I noticed with the damper off i can turn till it also hits this bolt on the rear of the hub/brakes assembly. Does it just need an alignment?

Otherwise, I'm finally enjoying walking again as of a week-2 ago quite a journey. Hope you all have been well, i have a bit to catch up on

That bolt is the steering stop, is it possible you got delivered the wrong steering damper?

Good to see you back here and that you're walking again!

Silly question but, do you have the right damper? Tie rod ends replaced? Wonder how far apart they were threaded out?

It looks too far extended in the center position, I bet it's for a pickup

Funny you thought the same thing; I went through my own rabbit hole of dampers and steering setups when I got bored one night and yeah his looks way off (extended)

Just like a shock, just because the bolt holes can match doesn't mean it's the right fit length wise

Thank you!! Appears to be stamped for the correct one, but definitely limiting my steering. The steering stop is only hit when removed. I did change the idler arm a month or so ago as well but this started after the damper

T100 frame is wider, this damper won't work since the mounts are farther apart
