Nah, it's the pneumatics, if someone would make a solar air compressor that ws worth a shit and not 15k for the whole set up, they would be millionaires yesterday.

 

If you can get a decent salary in a poorer city like Las Cruces, you can just about afford a palace though.

 

If I didn't have a kid I'd probably be in Denver or some shit haha

 

Yeah I'd most likely be in another state myself if I wasn't married and had a baby

 

I mean I do have a lease with my s/o and dog here, and vibe pretty well with my coworkers and some of the regulars at the shop. 2 weeks on/off wouldn’t be the worst thing though. The shipping/freight industry is also desperate for workers, and that’s usually month on/month off. After 5 years or so, you can make up to 200k or more if you work your way up.

 

You have your careers confused, MWD is not Mud logging. I was an MWD Field Engineer. Measurement While Drilling. Known as Directional Drilling. I call bs on the 120 day training. But yea, not the same career.

I am expecting to hear back about this insurance sales job tomorrow - it’s 45k base plus an expected 8k in commission, but the only benefits are 2 weeks of PTO, and I’d lose my flexible schedule, so I’m kinda on the fence about it.

 

I’ve been to Las Cruces and around the Gila. Also Raton, which was nice.

It’s theoretically uncapped pay. She said they expect you to grow your income by roughly 10k every year if you hit your goals. And people are always gonna need insurance.

Maybe. I do really like my living situation for the moment, and being right next door to my work. I’m just not really building much for the future financially.
