Goddamn...is this pretty typical for the tech world or is it a more recent thing? I can understand doing more than one interview to really try and narrow down the people that are serious and committed, but 7 is crazy.

    fingers crossed for ya :fingerscrossed:

Sat back at my desk after work and a tickle in the back of my throat started. A few hours later and it's clear the two days at the airport, I caught something. Damnit

That sucks, I think the only place you're more likely to get sick at than a preschool/daycare is while on a plane or at the airport. People seem to rarely cancel or put off travel plans when sick, and instead adapt the sharing is caring mentality

My nose is fucked up, not because I'm sick but because around 3am the other night I dropped River's pacifier on the floor while trying to soothe him and bent over to pick it up....SMACK...slammed my nose right on the edge of his crib. We recently got blackout curtains for our room so there was no light at all and I clearly misjudged how much room I had.

Imagine stubbing your toe on a corner in the dark but its your face instead, that shit hurt like all fuck and still does lol.

I remember how dark you guys got the room with those curtains; I'd be pulling out my nightvision at that point

Not sure where it came from, didn't touch much, didn't hardly come in contact with people. Who knows. Already warned my boss that tomorrow might not happen for me

It was so hard not to start yelling and cussing right after, I was so pissed, mostly at myself but also it was just another painful (literally) reminder of how little space we have in this damn house now lol.

You've got more discipline than I do now; I would've let out a good "AWE FUCK" if that happened to me

When I was trying to get a job during COVID no one was hiring. And the companies that were hiring would string me along for 4-5 interviews for a 35K-40K entry level IT position. It was insane what they'd make you jump through for such a dead end job. Not to mention all the companies doing virtual one way interviews... basically you record answers to their 10-15 questions and it's timed. Then the work life balance would be shit and you're making less than a grocery store cashier.

My feelings are captured pretty well in this meme.

I just had the flu or something this past week. The long term symptoms after the initial sickness are much worse than when I had covid last year. Hopefully not what you have though...

I had a head cold that lasted a minute, that sucked. So far just a sore throat. Is just real shitty timing for me.

I was gonna leave them on seeing as how they can vote now. But given where I found them it's probably best to put em down.
