1st Gen Lunchtable Thread - General Discussion

Like I said mines 10 years old, and I can't tell. Looks new and works.

Mines rated for 200k clicks, guaranteed to be under 18k (haven't found where that's stored in the menu). Figured I would take forever to reach that number but damnit if I don't fire off way more shots now with the 10fps capabilities. Lots of burst shots, has increased the culling time on the backend hahaha

I'm biased for canon. They have proven themselves to me so no inkling to change. All the issues I have are user error.

Yeah Canon is still on the forefront I think with Nikon trailing a bit behind. Nikon dug their heels in early on when Canon was making a splash by adding video features to their DSLR lineup and that was a big mistake for Nikon, most people in the industry have to know video as well and got on board with Canon early on because of it.

I stuck with Nikon because I invested so much in the lenses early on and didn't want to have to do that all over again

This resonated with me cause my dad's deaf too (Kuwait war). I remember as a kid asking him to not always be so loud (and getting in trouble)...

Yeah I've been trying to do that all morning to get the shutter count, but I don't have the Canon EOS software on my new computer. tried to download it but need IT to give admin approval apparently

 

That's the big thing, it's a huge investment upfront that makes it hard to walk away from. But your used gear can be sold and help pay back into it.

Well that's never gonna happen. I can barely open Microsoft word.

 

I used a $2 app on my moms mac (i dont have one anymore) to pull the counts of my canons

 

Makes me wonder if they sent acceptance emails by mistake to others, that would suck lol

Now that highschooler has to end up working at a coffee shop

 

Y'all shit on the coffee shop life but I think it sounds like a good time. I'd have to work at like two but still.

Cheaper than where I live but yeah, coffee probably cheaper too. Economies of scale and whatnot

 

The weekend work is what gets me
