I had that in October or November, knocked me flat on my ass for like three days of the worst sore throat I've ever had, was just constant pain and everything hurt to eat. Never had one that bad or that lasted that long... and that's my most hated part of a cold/flu too. The stuffy nose and headache are nothing with meds.

yeah the sore throat can't be mitigated at all really. Helps to just have really cold drinks on hand, cough drops off some relief but not much. Shit kept waking me up all night. Just can't stand the numbing stuff.

Took Sofia to urgent care on Friday because she'd had it for almost a week at that point and it wasn't letting up, they did chest X-rays to make sure it wasn't pneumonia (it wasn't) and were like, it sucks but you just gotta wait it out lol.

I remember as a kid, anytime we were sick they would slap a script in your mom's hands for full spectrum antibiotics and send you on your way. Didn't matter what it was, probably why we have this antibiotic resistant shit going around now.

We didn't have any money when I was a kid, so like... I've never been to the hospital for something that wasn't straight up about to end my life and even then we'd wait just in case I could pull through haha. So I have no idea what they even do for someone with a run of the mill cold or flu... is there really anything better than OTC cough/cold meds really?

Dex's Addison test is today so we should see where that lands for him, they're basically going to induce an episode of it with meds and if it happens they'll give him the steroid injection to make it better. But that would confirm that he has it, so we'll see

Brought him in and they were like "aww you need to be brushed, does Daddy not brush you??" bitch please

Not really, just supposed to let it run its course. If it lasts a long time it could turn into an infection, like a sinus infection, in which case you do need antibiotics. But viral stuff mostly just needs to run its course, treat the symptoms with OTC stuff, stay hydrated and wait it out

That MF needs a vaccum, but it's just that time of the year anyway. He's blowing coat, even if you shaved him there'd be shit to fall out.

We have a pet shedding attachment for our Dyson but he fuckin hates it lol. I get better results just using the hand brush even though it takes longer.

One of these days we need to try those groomers that use a vacuum to blow it all off at once, room ends up looking like a Dresden pillow factory in 1945

Some of them use an undercoat nozzle on their washing hose thingy first that helps get a lot off before they explode from air pressure.

Damn that's cool. I'd say let's meet up half way. It definitely looks like Whitney area of the Sierras.
I wish we would get the lake freez around here. It does happen but not thick enough.

yeah I don't know much about frozen pond skating but even in that video it looks kinda sketch lol. Probably why the clip only shows them near the edge/shore.

I dunno, my team hits me up every few weeks asking if I want to come out and play just once a month or something to work back into it. But with River still in our bedroom, nights are just too risky for me to be coming home around midnight or later and not falling asleep until 2 or 3am.

I intend to get back into it but I think it will be a solid year or two hiatus. Also kind of debating if I want to get back in as a forward again and hang up the pads for a bit, I kind of miss it. But when the entire league knows youre a goalie and goalies are always in short supply, it's probably not possible

Could you imagine having the late game, coming home and waking up everyone at 1am. You'd be sleeping on the couch for months.
