I had a productive day prepping to change the starter on the LC. I pulled the UIM and LIM from the LX to prepare the parts for a fast swap. I'll overnight the injectors to Injector RX in Houston for cleaning.

I'm trying a new parts cleaning solution from CRC instead of the usual Berryman Chemtool. I'm not sure if I like it yet.

I like to soak aluminum shit in xylene. My skin doesn't like it but the aluminum comes out perfectly like new

Let me see if I can get some at Ace Hardware or Lowes. I need to wrap this up quickly.

    OOF

Another 1FZ suffered an unexpected fate due to a WIX filter

I've read some older threads about such a thing, and a new one just popped up this month; only 138k miles on it

I'm going through D3's as well since I've got a bunch left over from the Tacoma and 4R

But I did use WIX on the LC, and I used WIX exclusively on the C6 and the Mustang and never had an issue

Not to say it can't happen to other vehicles but on the Corvette forums I haven't heard of an engine suffering failure from using one but have heard several 1FZ's on mud

It's weird cause the one the 1FZ uses is a 51515 and that's on like every Ford V8 pre 1998 too

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
Pans got a aftermarket baffle. Ecu can see pressure. Logged the first few runs. Got the normal 10 psi drop on hard rights but nothing concerning.

Gonna change diff and transfer case oils on the BMW and put new headlight level sensors in. And by new I mean ones I got at the junkyard for $12.

    That bimmer cleaned up nicely

I might be the weird one here but I appreciate an older car that still shines like new verses a newer car after a detail job

It's why I finally decided to clay bar this sumbitch

You just brought back traumatic memories of working on my truck when I was 18 at my parents house in the summer. They have an assault driveway that reached temperatures around the surface of the sun.
