I do wonder if that's still better/easier than dealing with actual high school aged kids

It's different, no phone distractions but plenty of old fashioned distractions and lots of slow downs. Lots of these folks are starting at a 3-4th grade level and many are below that

my mom teaches high school English and texted us some photos the other day, apparently some 9th graders broke into her classroom right before school started and drew huge dicks all over the place

Reminded me of the Superbad scene but the artwork was way less detailed

Emotions are hard, imagine not even knowing how to speak or wipe your butt... but having things to say and an ass that needs wiping. I'd throw a fit too, I'm gonna be a terror in hospice one day

Mine is acting drunk as hell this morning. She looked like RayGunn brake dancing when I took her out of her crib.

Vocal as fuck when he's playing with toys or dancing, but when he communicates it's always sign language

He's gonna be more fluent than I am soon enough

I believe it, one of my least favorite places to be when I was doing K-12 work was kindergarten classrooms, it's like they know words but only how to say them, not that they have any meaning.

Sometimes I think Sofia is way too smart for her own good, she communicates very well for her age. She's already started reading easy 3 and 4 letter words. We never pushed that on her, I know there are overbearing parents that try forcing their kids to do math/reading way earlier than they should. This was all just her asking questions and figuring it out.

anyway, my point being that she communicates well but there's a big downside to that when the tantrums start. Because she's still a 4 year old and like you said, emotions are a tricky thing for people in general let alone a relatively brand new human. If anything the strong communication can give more fuel to the fire so to speak when the emotions start spiraling.

it makes me appreciate the baby stage more. The hardest thing I deal with regarding River is when he loses his balance trying to look at the ceiling and smacks the back of his head on the floor for the 100th time in a day

I had River in the baby swing at the park last week, and he started reaching out toward the lady standing near us and doing the hand grab motion. She asked me if he was wanting milk because I guess that's the sign for it. We never did teach signing to either of them. She was in a busty sports bra thing and I was like....yeah...maybe that's what's he's reaching for lol.

I need to do the same, there's a series coming out too that's supposed to fit within the movie narrative/timeline. So I heard, no idea when though.
