I got over the initial "what the fucking fuck is fucking wrong with this fucking fuck" part of it

It's just been methodical troubleshooting in this case - the obvious things to try next are

    1. run the hand torch, and see if it occurs

    2. put the CUT60 with its respective torch back in place

But I would rather exhaust every single option before performing either of the above

Did you know that measuring a resistance of 3ohms or more from a dinse connector to a work clamp means your circuit is subject to interference? Yeah, troubleshooting has gone this technical

Yeah saw the explain on the other thread.

it does seem super weird... the only thing I didn't see mentioned, and usually because its fucking obvious, is the tension/load on whatever cable track/hanging system you have, but still not like that would explain the issue you are experiencing.

the only thing that seems like it would cause the issue you are experiencing to me, is that the new torch is messed up...

Yeah, just a few minutes after you posted that original image on the last page I had the same post pop up in my feed, followed by that other one

Tension would change based on where the torch is above the table; the defect appears anywhere a test piece is cut meaning an area where in theory, tension would be greater, as well as an area where tension would be the least. By that theory as well, tension would be more when cutting the lower edge (as it is farther away from the cable mount) than the top edge. Yet bottom edge is fully square.

I don't mind cutting the zip ties to release any of it but the issue was not present on the UPM-105 which, actually has a stiffer cable. The Hypertherm cable is thicker, but flexes even better.

I did question the machine torch being an issue, but Hypertherm tech specialist responded back with my own provided statement "since you rotated the torch 45 and 90 degrees, the beveling should've moved with the torch if it was a torch issue"

@Bandido Thanks for reading the other thread though and checking the pics out; gives you a good understanding of all I've done.

I need to do a 3" x 3" test cut and record it for Hypertherm.

Will be providing pictures with said video.

Before doing that though, I'll need to do a pressure check using Hypertherm's built-in function to confirm the solenoid is working correctly.

ah, yeah I didn't realize you had reoriented the torch, but got the same results.

are you running a drag chain/track or the stock hanger? -when I first set up my drag chains I had a L/R bevel when the head moved in a way that straightened the track, but that was before I was running a machine torch, and wouldn't think this issue would exist without it being really obvious.

    Stock hanger.

The left to right bevel only occurs on the top edge, leaving the bottom edge alone.

That's what's odd, if the axis is the issue, beveling should occur on both the top and bottom edge.

Which, on top of some more troubleshooting, I'm doing plugs and wires and pcv on my friend's Tacoma today

Cleaning up the IAC and throttle body recently lead to the truck running fine and passing smog yesterday

yeah top edge only is super weird, and part of what makes me think its inertial/ caused by getting to that position... given all the other things you have checked, unless you have not run a CCW path?

I'm sure you'll get it figured out.

Literally before you posted this, I thought to myself if I should forcibly run a CCW path.

But this could lead me to getting an artificial square edge though - but then that would be cutting items incorrectly and a part that is supposed to remain whole would get a lead in/out pierce mark.

but if it does get you to an "artificial" square edge it also lets you know something not so obvious in the carriage does actually needs adjustment

By that theory, the bevel should move to the bottom edge though and we're still fighting bevel.

I may give it a try as a final result, but will bring it up to Hypertherm after I do my test cuts and send them a video and pictures.

    yeah good next steps.

if its not the carriage/head, it could still be a torch tolerancing issue if something is looser in the torch than is should be... that electrode position can influence the arc cone shape, just like a tungsten grind (I would be really surprised if this was the case given the consistent direction)

    good luck!

Air pressure test complete; holding it for 5 seconds flashes 66

Letting air flow through the torch goes back 65 and 66 but more steadily shows 66 as the working pressure which puts me at 0.5 to 1psi

Well within the 1-2psi Hypertherm suggested
