    Wait, a "mechanic" doesn't understand that a WASHER floating around behind the timing cover could cause issues? He needs a weekend (and a good crack pipe) to think about it? Regardless of the compression numbers, he should understand that in no world is it acceptable to have hardware loose behind the timing cover. Sheesh.

    Glad the truck is working for you again. Hope it's engine is as strong as ever.

    @Ozark_RegCab

    Please don't reach out, or even mention this whole debacle to the previous owner

    I say this because you said you two still talk to each other about your previously-owned vehicles

    :thumbsup: I love my 3:1 regeared 4LO transfer case. Keeps my brakes, transmission, and engine temps nice and LOW in Rockies and Ozarks. I use 2nd start when rolling with others who have conventional 4LO gearing.
    You won't hear me bitching about my 4-speed automatic (from an 80 series) or the golden wheelbase.

    My kid drove the LC all through Imogene (and the switchbacks) as a series of 1 points. I realize that's not a big deal for a buggy or a little Jeep. But for any LC above a 50, that's doing something.

    It's fun when you have choices like that. Now that I drive mine every day... It's still fun.

    I'm really looking forward to getting the vibration fixed, still there. The spacers I bought were just a hair to small ID for the carrier bolts. Hopefully get the new ones quick and try again. And now I'm pretty confident I have a weak spark in my least one cylinder. Throttle response is a bit behind and the mid range power seems down. Once I fix those issues in the next few days it should drive a lot better. Still have to throw down money for longer shocks and new tires... Maybe I would be better off with a used Corolla....

    Lol jk

    Thanks! Just stood in my doorway and shot through the gap in the fence. It was pretty stunning while I was walking the dog so I had to take a picture.
    Only if we are doing an old Corolla wagon. Or one of them hideous Camry wagons

    You missed the best part, it has the 3.0L inline v6!
    You could get those with a 5spd manual. Not that it would make it exciting but at least less dreary.

    I thought these were only like 2 years of production, then later they came back as the Solara. This one has a 3VZ-FE in it... oddball thing. Has some weird stuff going on from their rush to put a V6 in a car, like power steering pump driven radiator fan, an engine torque mount... etc
