This might be a long shot since most of you seem to be tired of hearing about this, but would anyone be willing to hop on a video call while I inspect the 100 series more throughly later today or tomorrow?

I'd offer, but I don't know any 100 series specific information that would be of any use

Only stuff I do for any vehicle purchase in general

Most of my advice was provided as far as negotiating and you didn't use it :(

On a random note, I have some sort of front behind-the-bumper plate bracket in the form of a DXF

Buddy called me to sketch up a part he got a picture of; I ribbed him for not being able to do parts as well (but to his credit, he's amazing and knocking out sign work)

    Also, DIY drain filter ftw

I asked for the weekend to think about it and they agreed. I might ask if Craig or one of the other 100 series forum members would do a quick video chat with me while I look at it more closely tonight.

    Thanks for the offer though.

Nothing automotive related. I've had one of those days when I've been dealing with people who are very good at doing a "half assed job". LOL

    1) Inspect Upper and Lower Ball joint and tie rod ends boot splits and cracks.

    2) Shift from Park to Drive, then to Reverse and back to Drive and listen for clunks. You are looking for worn differential bushings and worn out u-joints.

    3) The coin balance test will let you know that all cylinders are firing and have compression within similar tolerances.

    4) Check the rack boots for leaks and any shifting that may occur from worn rack bushings.

    5) Check the sunroof

    6) Sticky windows may be corrected with silicone spray.

    7) Check the rubber brake lines (each wheel) and the long one over the rear axle for cracks.

    8) Make sure all gauges are working. Stepper motor failure is common for 100s in hot climates.

    9) Ask to see if the LX cabin air filter has been added as an enhancement.

    10) Run for a while with the AC on Max Cold to build up condensation in the evaporator. There is a little evap cover gasket that looks like a worm that will cause water to drop on the passenger floorboard.

    11) Check the passenger side front stabilizer bar link bushing for being rusted out. The AC drains on the bushing mount and causes the bolts and mushing U to rust out.

    12) Listen from any idler pulley noises from the AC pulley or the other idler pulleys.

    13) Check the engine air filter. If neglected, other maintenance will be neglected.

    14) Are all turn signals and brake lights working? Sometimes the rear pigtail will break from movement over the years.

    15) Does the trailer hitch have marks and rust from frequent use?

    16) Check the color and smell of the Power Steering fluid.

    17) Rear wiper -- does it work?

    18) Can you engage and disengage CDL from a stop and short distance? Yes it will work on pavement.

    19) Have the oil cooler and other water pump bypass hoses been replaced since new?

    20) The end of the heater T hoses are under the passenger cabin. Those are hard to reach and have usually never been changed.

    21) Do the electrically operated rear side windows open and close without issue.

    22) Do the electric mirrors all work.

    23) How old is the radiator?

    24) Has the fan pulley bracket ever been replaced? It has one that is similar to the TACO.

    25) Is there any bubbling around the windshield gasket?

The thing I've learned about used vehicles and new for that matter, you never know if it was a good deal until 2+ years later and you still want to keep it.

I'm getting older and fed up enough that I've defaulted to half-assed work because it works. There's no accountability and the company will just reward hard work with more work so what choice is there.

Holy shit, never have I ever had a small bolt so tight on something, that when it finally broke loose a spark flew

At 2 years old, this thing was pretty grimey
