Yeah I've done them every year since my daughter was born in 2020. Our house is pretty small but tall for a single story home, so getting them up to the top of the steep roof is always fun. Trusting my life to the sturdiness of a 24ft Home Depot rental ladder

This time next year we'll be in a different house so we'll see how it goes then

Scratch that, we'll be in a different home this xmas lol.

Need to buy a new tire inflator.

Current one works, but when I used it two days ago the gauge was stuck and wouldn't read shit.

Mind you, it's never been dropped or abused. Tapping it or running air through it doesn't make the needle budge though so need a reliable replacement.

Been really thinking about trying to do some this year.
I want to do the nostalgic big bulb C9 style, but everything I find has those super harsh almost neon-blue colors I hate

I haven't had luck with inflators, no matter the brand they seem to die/leak after a year or two

do you know what brand you're gonna go with?

I need to go to HF later, but for something else

That inflator is a Merlin, one of HF's own so I'll see if they have an upgrade from that otherwise I'll look online and let you know

The inflator literally hangs on the wall on a hook, so it was weird to find the needle stuck and pressure not reading at all

If the inflator itself is fine, why not just slap a quality air gauge on there?

Big oof. Guess it'll be a new inflator then.

It's not just you. We had a fancy (expensive) inflator at my work and the gauge still broke. I think it's got a cheapo digital gauge on it now, maybe that will hold up better than a dial.

We do them every year, the trick is to have a quality ladder and get them up before the snow falls.
