    pulled the other knuckle off this housing. the ball joints are in there good lol. my attempt to press them out with a C style press and the impact proved unsuccessful

    yeeeep. figured I'd let them soak in some pb blaster before hand and take a break lol

    this axle isn't rusty but seems to have been last maintained decades ago lol. surprisingly the ball joints are still nice and tight but I'll end up replacing them just for serviceability (god forbid I have to do one on the trail or parking lot in the future lol). I will probably reuse the wheel bearings, seems like they were freshly packed not long before the axle was stuck into storage

    Peace of mind is worth the cost of new ball joints. Makes me think, I put new ball joints on the green truck about 6 years ago but have only put about 3,000 miles on them. May still be worth checking.
