SMH that's what your legs are for lol

We made it through the first night. Accidentally fell back asleep without putting him in his kennel... But found him like this when I woke up.

I ordered the Ebay manual trans swap kit for the Nissan.

Hopefully it'll go semi smoothly. I'll definitely have to do some research before it gets here and undoubtedly order a few more bits and pieces to make it work once it arrives

Okay I lied, I flipfloped at the last second and canceled the order. Wife has her heart set on a used Hybrid so I'll worry about getting the Nissan fixed later on

Idk if I shared the back story here, but he was dumped in the desert with one of his brothers. My folks are the ones that found them and by all accounts they were feral when they found them. But then when they picked them up, scared of humans, like they had little to no interaction before. And now here we are a week later, he has a home, a bed, a big sister, food, water, and an owner who is gonna take him all over the country on our adventures. Yeah I would say he is much happier than he was a week ago.

I had to start the xterra to get it out of the mud where the tow truck could get it and it started right up. The exhaust smelled kinda sweet though so I still suspect a head gasket.

Yea supposedly the head gaskets were done 6 years ago, but you never know who was doing the work or how properly they did it.

Six years can easily be ten or twelve, but we last remember it as being "six" years ago because that's the last time someone talked about it.

I mean shit, it's hard to imagine sometimes that 20 years ago means 2005 and not 1985 :bananadead:

At least it’s a good sign that it’ll run. Hopefully I didn’t get it hot enough to cook the motor.

    Today’s haul

He’s always shedding to some degree but the end of winter shedding is mind boggling how much can come off one animal every day
