Is he still napping well/every day? River is starting to really fight his daily nap to the point where he's missing some of them. Exactly what happened with Sofia when she stopped napping around a year and a half old, which is wayyy too early and we vowed not to let him do that. But it appears it might be genetic lol.

Feel bad for Rebecca, of course this happens as I'm going back into work

He does, and he's good at keeping his naps to about 1hr to 1.5hrs

He'll fight it at first, but within seconds he stops then tries to knock out

The dead give away is when he suddenly becomes a bit extra and throws his cars or something while we're playing, and rubbing his eyes non-stop

I love that he still naps though cause he wakes up in a better mood, and I get time to take a breather

That is fortunate, it definitely makes for a better overall day for everyone. The only upside to him missing a nap is it makes bedtime that much easier, he'll conk out right away. But like we learned with Sofia the downside is worse because as the day progresses without a nap, the tantrum fuse gets way shorter. Just wanna try and reason with them like do you know how badly I want a nap right now?? DO YOU????

Sofia is definitely different, and I mean that in a good way

She really knows how to verbalize what she's thinking so I can only imagine how she is with you guys when she gets a tantrum

When I was reading her solar system book to her, she was surprising me with all the stuff she knows or understood that I read to her like holy shit...kids are way smarter than we think they are

Theo already knows his colors and numbers 1-10, so now we're on ABC's with words tied to said letters

It is a blessing and a curse lol. Her school groups kids based on age from Group 1 (2 yrs old) up to Group 5 (Kindergarten). Her group 1 teacher gave us the go ahead to skip group 2 and put her in group 3 because she was communicating so well. But that had some disadvantages too because socially she wasn't in the same place as the older kids but it worked out. She'll be in kindergarten starting this summer.

But yeah that just means her tantrums are all the more scathing and difficult to navigate lol

I like the true crime stuff but I really don't like a lot of the popular ones where it's just a lot of unfunny banter with some content sprinkled in. Like they are just regurgitating content from another source.

I guess I'm into the more investigative journalism style. Audio documentary, that kind of thing.

    This one looks promising

I burned myself out on listening to music all day, I will put music on when we have photoshoot days but when it's just me at the computer I can't do just music anymore.

I’ve been driving the 22 Forester company car a lot - it’s a really nice car, but it has 35k on the CVT, which is supposedly about the time you’d wanna do a fluid change to make it last. I’m guessing the company probably wouldn’t do that since they’re technically supposed to be “sealed” transmissions. Apparently the Subaru CVTs can be decent if you change fluids every 30k or so, but basically nobody does.

Only thing that sucks with being retired is whenever you're out running errands, everywhere you go there's a bunch of old old people

Was in line waiting at CVS pharmacy with this old lady behind me singing along with 3 Doors Down Here without you

Didn't help she kept trying to peek and smile at Theo

the actual research and documentation is really in depth and they present it in a compelling way without turning into a brunch joke fest like most of the ones youre talking about
