Is anyone else worried about this? Sometimes I wonder what I’m gaining experience for if we’re all just gonna be replaced by robots in a few years anyway.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
I do a job that is internet isolated and requires physical intervention so not worried. People can't even Google search obvious things anyway, writing good AI prompts and then checking them for efficacy is still important. It can do lots of things but it can't always do them right all on its own. Don't worry over what you cannot affect, not healthy. You wanna feed into paranoia, sign up to train as a sparky or a plumber right now

    Yeah absolutely
Get into a higher paying role now and reap the benefits while they exist before we're all stuck in the Wendy's application line

Even then, there are many that are still working and contributing to our economy.

It's like Zane said, don't stress yourself out over things you can't control.

There's a gal or dude now writing a check for a CNC laser table, another one that's struggling to pay rent, and someone else visiting their second (vacation) home out of state for Summer vacation.

Gotta take care of #1(yourself) and not worry about others.

Server sites, hospitals, mfg plants all need AC. Plus cold storage for food and grocery stores arnt going anywhere. So HVACR isnt going anywhere, the more infrastructure being built not only need people to build it but to service it too.

I think a lot of people are gonna be employed keeping all the old people alive. Already a lot of the jobs being created are in healthcare.

And theres only more of them being built and old ones getting overhauled. Takes alot of cooling to keep those server racks happy

Aint nothing scarier then working on a water loop that were if you fuck up can take down all the internet in the area if you accidentally flood the server room
