Man it's been in the 70s, but with a nice cool breeze so I'm taking advantage of it

I swear we get every kind of bug in CA around our new house except for spiders. I see little ones here and there of course but no black widows and shit like I used to see all over at our old place.

We get a lot of these, I think they're desert stink beetles? I haven't tried stepping on one yet to find out lol.

Definitely don't smash it. They are stink bugs. We had them all the time at my parents house out by Riverside. Not as bad as bad as a skunk but still smell.

 

We have these all over, they're harmless. They move slow and don't do much of anything if they're out in the open. Pick one up one time and try to restrain it though, they're crazy strong

 

Yeah don't, unless you want to join Dex and stink up the rest of the house

Yeah they are clumsy af too, I watched one just amble along and out of nowhere fell over sideways and then onto its back like something kicked it lol. Helpless as an upside down turtle

Better than cockroaches I guess, haven't seen any in the house just outside and in the garage occasionally.

Oh I just remembered, we went back to the Huntington Library/Museum a few weeks ago and brought River's stroller...pulled it out of the car when we got there and Rebecca went to put water bottles stuff into it, next thing I know she's SCREAMING and I'm like holy shit, she just got bit by a snake or something.

It was a tiny frog (toad?) about the size of a 50c coin. Dude got trafficked from our house to the world renowned Huntington Library gardens, probably the luckiest frog in history

 

I was expecting a spider or something like that

Poor dude - tell me you built a terrarium for it

 

Oh no he's got the whole Huntington gardens to live in now. Although there are a lot of fish and other critters there he probably got picked off by

that same place we all went to when you guys were here before you left later for Legoland

Larami went away in 2002 so everything after that is the cheaper remake; think the anniversary edition was in 2008 or so and even those suck
