    I think what Jaxon was sort of hinting at is finding some stability.

    He's talking more long-term and if I'm correct, I agree.

    It's hard looking for something you both enjoy doing, in an environment that's equally enjoyable (environment meaning personnel included) so it's alright to hop around but you might find a gig you want that'll turn you down with all the job hopping you've done.

    You're getting older, so you should look at things more long term. Roth IRA, 401k, index funds, CD accounts, you want to invest in yourself so you're not +60 years old hating life and still working to make ends meet.

    Wages is all demographic. Because my shop kids start at 24$ and when i make them an apprentice that bumps up to 32$. With a raise every 6 months.
    But UA342 journeymen make like 80$ a hour now. But we are also the 3rd highest paid pipefitter local in the county only beaten by the San Francisco local and san mateo local which are also bay area locals

    The benefit of joining the UA is also the insurance and pension and retirement plans. Idk what 211 has to offer. My local has amazing insurance both medical and dental, plus a retirement, 401a and 401k.
    And that stays with me no matter what shop i switch to as long as they are union because its all through the UA not the contractor. The insurance also covers my wife and kids with the same plan as me.

    But this is pipefitter union. I cant speak for other unions like teamsters, labors, etc. dont know how they operate. Though some unions are more just for worker rights and not anything else.

    Union life especially with the welders has alot of politics and rules. That you’re expected to follow to as a UA member or you can be kicked out.

    I already have a Roth

    Not saying that's the end all be all but I'm not ignoring the fact I've got to retire at some point

    @unstpible

    You're not the only one that made progress :laughing:

    Apparently the assembly manual suggests 3 people for that part and they were right. My buddy swung by to borrow my jack so I asked if he wanted to help a bit

    Good thing he had his kid too cause it took me holding 2 panels on one side, my buddy holding the following 2 panels, then his son passing the bar to lock them in place

    The rest should be easier cause the panels each get a bolt to hold them in place as you lay them down

    Valve cover would be an easy swap from your current engine but I think you'd be going from an 8-port head to 4-port so you'd have to keep the intake.

    Sloppy red paint does make you wonder about other things though.
