DO the regular cabs and extra cabs have the same size fuel tanks? This one I’m looking at is from an 01 single cab

I could still maybe get the one from the guy in Newport though cause that’s an extracab

18.5 gallons for the Prerunners and 4x4s. The light comes on at 15 gallons spent. The 5lugs have the 15 gallon tank.

I thought it was the same size between the extra cab and regular cab as long as they were both 6 lug, but I could be wrong

    time623 and Tour991 like this.

I thought some of the early models had smaller fuel tanks but idk for sure. Now I’m reading the 01 and layers had different evap systems which might make even the extra cab tank not a direct fit. Ugh I didn’t realize it was so complicated.

    Actually they do.
The difference is in 5lugs and 6lugs. The 5lug has a 15 gallon tank and the 6 lug has a 18 gallon. The difference in the tank is in the depth. The 6 lug tank is deeper at the bottom but the shape is exactly the same and if you use the smaller tank you just need the shorter straps.

Edit: 95.5 to 2000 tanks are different then 2001 to 2004 tanks. And are not interchangeable

Isn’t it just the sender units that are different? I have the straps and sending unit with the tank I just got so I could reuse those. I could try to return this one and go get the extracab tank but I’d rather not go back up there if I don’t have to tbh

It's just longer because it sits lower in the tank. If you have everything that is needed for the tank then it will work as long as it's not an 01+ tank.

It is an 01 tank unfortunately. I guess I should try to return/resell it then?
