Feeling right now that if I can swap the transmission myself then it may be worth it. Much harder question if we're paying some one to do it.

Its got a couple of electrical gremlins but the engine is strong and its otherwise solid. Used car market is nutso right now.

with these crazy fuel price swings im thinking about a transfer tank or oversized tank for the ford again. i put it out of my mind before because i usually have to stop for breaks and fuel up wherever but shit is bouncing between $3 and $4

 

It was crazy for sure going from home to the Bay Area and back

Found a few spots that were only $3.69 so we filled up there - fortunately Stephanie's car only needed one fill up before leaving and for coming back but everywhere else we drove through had pricing from 4.29 to 5.19

How big is the tank in your truck now? They're pretty big already?

 

One refinery here is supposed to shut down permanently by October and another by April of next year, so it's gonna get uglier

the excise tax increase hits tomorrow too but that probably won't have more than a few cents of an effect

 

I cared little about gas prices when we lived at our old place, living just a few miles from work...about 10 miles round trip. 30 mile round trip now though from our new house so I definitely feel it a bit more with the old gas guzzling Toyotas. Still cheaper than a monthly new car payment though.

 

yea the pricing variance is a little annoying, always feels like a win to find a place that feels like a better deal. those savings start adding up lol
