I don't think that's that weird? If the corn is ripe enough to be tender already, then you're just missing out on it being hot enough to melt butter?

New timing belt. My buddy Jack installed it yesterday while I was at work. Perfect alignment. Started up on the first crank for a preliminary "smoke test" before the covers are installed today. When the fan bracket bearing failed, the ball bearings landed on the timing belt. That caused the timing belt to jump.

How many of you guys have experienced a dec line in customer service since the AI craze hit in 2025?

The rush to change web sites and shut down call centers because of the new AI agents has resulted in two hour wait times when I need to talk to a human. Also the human I get is less helpful than the malfunctioning AI agent. Some banks and card provides to staff their call centers with qualified and helpful agents. I don't like to change banking relationships when I've been a customer for over 20 years. This may require a change. Also, AT&T internet service has been declining. A local cable/internet provider is eating their lunch.

I remember the DOT B-0-M-B crash in 2000.

    What Zane said

Home theater by nature is just loud, dynamic, etc.

It's why high-current is more important than most other things, except placement. Placement is huge.

speaking as a professional photographer, not every professional photographer knows their lighting and the wrong lighting for the wrong person can really make someone look off. Or you might just be really tired lol. I always have tired eyes, I need light blasted directly at my face (non directional) to make me not look like I'm coming off an MDMA binge

An amp that can do time alignment is nice for a home, since it gives you more freedom to place the speakers as you want/can and it makes up the difference in volume and time delay digitally.

Are you saying a ring light isn't perfect for literally every occasion?

Yep, which is why I found Audessy or w.e. it is to be a huge help in setting up HT systems

Their use of included mic, built-in tuning software, and more allows skipping the spl meter while running a series of your own tones

Ring lighting is a great portraiture light. For some reason company headshots seem to really prefer 'birthday light' aka just flood the entire person and space behind them with as much light as possible. It's not dynamic or anything but generic enough to work OK on just about anyone.

I like the triangle ring light personally, cooler catch lights in the eyes. Kinda makes it look like you're staring into a UFO tractor beam mid-abduction
