Just read that they are issuing tsunami warnings for the entire US west coast starting at around midnight tonight due to that earthquake in the ocean near Russia.

    Yep

Being that it was an 8.7 means they're at a much bigger risk than all the rest of us which fucking sucks

Although the western coastline of the US is under Tsunami Watch, Hawaii is under Tsunami Warning

Yeah I can’t imagine being under that kind of threat on a small island, it’s still mind boggling the death toll that the 2004 tsunami in Indonesia had. Something like 228,000 people. Hopefully this one comes and goes without much or any damage or suffering.

Reached out to my mom to make sure she’s aware and listening for alerts, Monterey is predicted to get swells or a possible tsunami around midnight

My wife and sister inlaw were freaking out. Im just like “we are in the bay, the size of tusnami needed to be able to pass through the bay opening and cause any kind of major damage in the bay would have to be insane. Now the coast like off SF thats on the pacific is a didn’t different story

I was in Waikiki for a lacrosse tourney in October 2012, shit going crazy all over at the time, east coast people worried they couldn’t get back home because of Hurricane Sandy, we sat on the 12th story balcony of our friends hotel with the tsunami warning sirens going off as all the animals in the Honolulu zoo were freaking out, it was a scene, watching the news as the highways all jammed up with traffic.

    Nothing happened lol.

Yeah my mom asked if we were going to be ok lol, I was like this would have to be an apocalyptic level tsunami event that wiped out all of LA County before it reached us. But yeah anyone at sea level within a few miles of the coast should definitely be on alert

Man you guys are getting roasted. Those are usually the temps we deal with over summer (minus the god awful humidity) but for some reason we’ve been spared this year thus far. Only reached triple digits once back in May, mostly 80s so far. August and Sept are usually the worst though so we’ll see

The CNC guys out in the midwest have been complaining non-stop

Never would've expected it to be even worse out there than it's been here

Now it rains every afternoon and turns the heat into a steam bath. The yard is growing like crazy due to the rain. I'm bringing a group to Colorado at the end of August. Maybe I'll get some relief then. There are things that I need to do to the trucks, but its just too hot to attempt anything.
