it definitely goes beyond picky, her occupational therapist we have her seeing says its ARFID, avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder usually tied to extreme sensory issues with little kids. It's a good thing we found a kids protein shake she likes or she'd have wasted away by now.

we are ramping up the therapy for her this year with it though, because she starts 1st grade next year and will be in school all day where this will become a bigger issue if unresolved.

That's the thing, it has to be the ones we make with the exact ingredients. She can even tell if we don't use a cast iron pan, I have to make sure we bring one on trips.

They do taste a lot better on cast iron, I can tell the difference too. But I'll still eat it either way lol

Damn, for having absolutely no culinary pallet she has extremely acute sense of taste

Ha he just gets a craving and then continues to ask for that same thing over and over

This last week it's been fruit bars, I'm talking like 3 per day

At your place it was those crackers/biscuits

I'm just glad he's not really picky, just more like "I want this for this week"

Fortunately it comes and goes

He eats pretty much anything, and he eats a lot

He's only gotten picky when it comes to certain textures really so I'm more fortunate than most :fingerscrossed:

Too bad it is sensory too, that's hard for people that eat a variety to overcome even. I know people that love the taste of avocado but won't eat it because of the texture.

Happy Gilmore 2 was surprisingly good, I had low expectations going into it but it definitely lived up to the 1st imo

Had some friends over and we watched them back to back, definitely a fun movie
The number of cameos was wild

its awesome yall are identifying and working with her on that. it’s a far cry from the “get what you get and thats it, eat it now or starve til youre ready to eat it tomorrow” kind of treatment that used to be common. or maybe that was just the community i grew up in..,

i feel for her, that shit sucks, and i struggle with the same even as an adult. i wish they had a food equivalent of those capsules that turn into those fun sponges in water lol

Yeah my wife and I rewatched the 1st one a few days before...had been years for me. Rewatching that made me less enthusiastic for the sequel initially, much of the comedy style in the first would be looked down on in new movies today. Gotta love the 90s lol. But they did a good job of implementing it in the new one without going overboard.

Thanks, yeah that was definitely the treatment I got as a kid and I would be lying if at times I didn't want to give it a try myself because it gets so frustrating sometimes. Often she doesn't even want her quesadilla and just wants crackers or a fruit packet for dinner, and I'm just like you cannot survive like this lol. But of course she doesn't know and how could she. Getting mad at her won't do anything but make it harder in the long run.

The only thing that sucks is these kinds of occupational therapists don't take insurance, especially the highly recommended ones. Which has been the big reason we haven't made much progress so far, but this year we really have to regardless.
