Funny thing is, this is for my SIL so I figured I'd try to knock it out quickly today.

It's pretty much done -just need to make and weld tabs to affix the long 6' sections.

Don't normally do these unless it's a $1k+ job like the last one.

Had some extra mid-grade ply so went for a good first draft of a rear deck. Feeling lazy and clever, I used the rear oem carpet for a template, thinking how nice it was to have cut the workload in half, and went about my business.
Forgot to erase the pencil lines for those factory tie-down cutouts up top...where my top two bolts are supposed to go through to secure it to the floor haha.
Cut, routed the edges over all nice, sanded all purty. Cool. Was just enjoying the weather, brain on fuckin auto-pilot.
Glad I test fit before sinking holes with the forstner and putting all the t-nuts in it.

For a "first draft" that looks freaking perfect

Going to carpet the thing to match the interior?

Thanks man. Besides that little hiccup it came out good. I'm back and forth on carpet, stain and poly, or some sort of bedliner. I had one in my old LC that I just sealed and ran with it, but that had a light interior, so I think darker is probably the move here.
Gotta figure out where I want the t-nuts too.
Found some short stainless tie down eyelets to try with those, they're a little proud on the underside but washer should handle it.

I was just looking at the new m12 stubby impact too… Its smaller than my yellow stubby and no shit has double the torque, and that one is a 20v battery!

Ive got enough yellow that it would hurt to switch, but not impossible… The more I look the more tempting it gets!

I was correct. Replaced the rear leaf's today with General Spring OEM replacements and it made ZERO difference. Still only have roughly 1" of travel before bottoming out. Luckily, the tuner said that he'd work with me on it and make it right.
