Maintain it and it can run for a long time

They're not made of glass like the old transmissions he's talking about of the Daimler days

You gotta remember, this guy reads something on the internet and it blows out of proportion from there

 

I don't think this one got maintained much. My work pretty much just does oil changes and that's it on their fleet.

 

does anybody have experience with these clutches?

 

if not going with Aisin, go for a Luk or Exedy imo

 

I will always sing praises about the abuse my Exedy has endured over the years. that clutch has never stopped surprising me in terms of longevity

 

Pricing for comparison

 

im just sayin the exedy has survived a decade of shenanigans including:

- daily driver stop and go abuse in den/hou
- 35s on 3.91s
- being overheated multiple times
- being severely overloaded towing and on dates with your mom
- the rock abuse that lead to the breakage/damage or multiple chromo axles and CVs

i think I paid about that much for it in 2013 or so, i can’t complain one bit about it

 

What ever the Chevy express has for a transmission sucks. I’ve seen so many of those go out, I’ve had 2 die in my time driving an express. And everyone guys those vans. I guess they are cheap but they suck in every way compared to a ford or Nissan. The damn thing hasn’t changed other then the grill since like 1990

 

I forgot what I put on my Tacoma, I want to say Aisin, or what every @Empty_Lord told me to buy. But that exedy is the same price as what ever temu one he was looking at. So I don’t see why you wouldn’t go exedy

 

Luks arent bad either in my experience, probably not worth paying extra for though

 

Plus you get a free magnet from rock auto. So there’s that

 

yea if I was ordering online i would skip for the extra cost

if you needed one today and cant wait, there’s nothing wrong with picking one up local. they’re about as good as it gets for a part store part

 

Found it. Got a luk flywheel and aisin clutch last time. Been going good. All together I was like 500$

 

I dunno man, why spend $160 when the PERFECTION CLUTCH is only $105

 

I still have the one I took out the Tacoma from pismo. Free to who ever lmao

I think there is a flywheel in that pile you got from me.
