Well mine is an old WW1 or 2 Army issued Gillette, so that's not possible. But, from what I can tell Merkur is a very solid starting point. Initial cost might be like $50, but you'll save on blades. Also, your first couple of shaves you will nick yourself.

Oh damn, that's vintage and cool. I'll give the Merkur a look, would much rather use a razor I can hone the edge on anyway, feels less wasteful. Plus then I can use that neato hole in the back of my medicine cabinet that I'm pretty sure just deposits razors in my 116yr old wall cavity.

You're gonna put my expensive ass Philips Norelco unit out of business aren't you? Would be nice to travel with one razor and have that be the end all be all though.

@Speedytech7 I do recommend getting a blade pack assortment. Not all blades are created equal and it's an opportunity to find one the works best on your skin.

Yeah I see various thicknesses and bevel lengths. I'll buy their assortment and see what works. Thankfully my face is anything but sensitive, but less tugging would be nice, somehow my hair is coarse as shit.

a straight razor on my junk?? helllllll naw how do you manage that lol. I normally just use a pair of nose hair trimming scissors and trim when the jungle needs mitigation. Time consuming but less collateral damage.
When I went in for my vasectomy they made me completely shave the entire area and that was not fun at all, I don’t know how people do that without nicking the hell out of your twig and berries

You get used to doing it and you keep up on it regularly rather than extended intervals. It's a much more time consuming and sometimes painful job if you let it go too long.

Do people not go to the neighbourhood barber every day for a shave anymore? I guess maybe people can’t afford it these days when a cut and shave costs like 30 bucks

I dunno where you're even getting more than a haircut for $30, let alone a shave too

    Wow.

Where the hell are you going to pay $30 per shave?

Im just thinking of old movies in the city where everyone always meets and chops it up at the barber shop everyday. I usually only go like 2-3 times a year tho

In the last city I lived at, it was about $20 per cut

Where I get my haircuts now it's $24 per cut and an extra $5 or $7 for trim+shave

This barber is my go to as he's the owner of said shop, and he's won multiple awards out here in the valley for his skill

Best of all, it's one of those small, shoot the shit types and people get treated like family
