Doesn't need to run, the clutches are hydroscopic, they get water on them and they absorb it and they break down at an accelerated rate. Shifts may not even suffer until they get bad enough, they usually start slipping a little bit here and there, then more and more until you start losing gears

Nah, just serviced an auto or two, or seven. They're sorta one of those things that can be a make or break on an old vehicle cause they cost so much to repair. Could always swap a manual in though. Best to stay on top of them, and not ever let water in them, than to try and pretend all is well if you leave it alone. Cause then they strand you in a bad neighborhood

Maybe you got lucky, helps that the 5VZ makes no power and doesn't stress the A340

Burnouts happen because you've lost traction, once you've lost traction it's easy to keep spinning. Put some 33s on there and see if it still does it. Mine can light up a 33 with the manual just fine and I don't have the advantage of a torque converter multiplying my torque output

    Stoner Question:

Northern Alaska has periods of 24 hours in the day light and 24 hour in the dark, does the Southern Hemisphere do the same?

I've never heard anyone talk about it
