Haha i am cheating a bit as I am getting stack recommendations from icon. I have no clue what shims to add or subtract, what thickness to go with etc. I understand the theory, and what different stacks do and dont do, but coming up with my own, I just dont have the knowledge. The pros who know all that shit generally have been doing it for years and dont share too many secrets. Even my buddy who works for one of the big shock co’s says some of the older tech guys who build the shocks and do the recomendation wont share too many secrets. Though Icon has been pretty dam helpful, and the tech dept did a good job with the rebound stack. Ill help ya out as best I can. But my stack wont work for your truck.

Hows the crawler project coming along?

Spent some time at a few junkyards today. It’s been storming the last two days, good thing for Northern California due to the Camp Fire.

I thought Tacomas were rare, and then I saw a Land Cruiser. By some miracle, the engine was still there.

And I saved this little number from the great beyond. Plan is to graft it onto my stock grill.

Pulled some horns from this dinosaur today. 1967 Cadillac DeVille.

This thing was baller as hell. Had power door locks and air conditioning — mind you in 1967.

They made horns different back then. It was all solid metal.

As usual, the one Tacoma they had was stripped 5 minutes after the loader put it down.

You are crazy haha whatcha gonna do with that cruiser grill?

Its easier thats for sure. Building a truck from the frame up sounds awesome, but lots and lots of work.

Jeez. Californians start complaining how cold it is when it hits 50 degrees.

    Me included. Haha.

It’s going on the Tacoma. Common mod I’ve seen is grafting it to the Tacoma grill.

01-04 grill, but you get the idea.

Couldn’t pass it up for $14.

It's all about having the right mind set just like anything else. You should do a 01-04 swap before you graft that grill in. Or give it to me ;)

Ha, you wish. I thought Tacomas were rare. And then I saw this FJ80. I’ll probably never see one again. Usually high value Toyota vehicles like this end up being shipped overseas, at a speciality scrapper, or just simply rebuilt.

Very very rare to see a Land Cruiser at a chain junkyard.

Nah, I love the ‘98-‘00 front end. The big headlights are my favorite out of the entire generation.

They look good with a plate bumper. The stock bumper on them has always been a turn off for me. 95-97 is probably the best looking one IMO. One day I'll put a cruiser grill in mine.

Edit: The 98-00 do look good done up right. This is a 4runner but pretty much the same thing.

No shit sherlock, maybe thats why they are $300 on ebay haha I went through that realization about 9 months ago when I saw someone graft one to their grill. they are rare to find. Dont use the chrome. You should color match before you graft it

Nothing crazy. Chrome badges, small grill accents, etc are enough. Chrome mirrors are pushing it, but I still rock them.
