Yeah it’s pretty easy to drop. If something is in it. Takes like 5 min. But if nothing is in it and it’s making that sound then you got another issue.

I stripped the front diff drain plug like a n00b ... didn't clean out the dirt first (since it's a stupid hex plug for some reason) and it stripped. The metal is really soft on those plugs

I know a couple guys within an hour of me but they are both real busy fabricators, if I'm going to pay someone for their time and the gas to get there I figure I could get a cheap flux core welder like what @Speedytech7 linked and at least learn how to do some easy stuff like this on my own

It makes no sense to me as to why theres a 50 post minimum to sell in the marketplace, yet any shmuck can buy off of it. Ive perused a few ads recently and its 90% of the time, 1st time posters wanting to buy stuff. I always thought a buyer could screw over a seller just as easy as the seller can.

I support it. It stops the influx of people joining just to sell their truck.

A lot car forums are like that. Some even have one time membership fees.

Oh I support it too. What Im saying is, there should be a minimum count to buy off of it too.

Why? Most folks use PayPal nowadays. You get buyer/seller protection if you op for the 'buying goods or services' option.

In my experience, PayPal always sides better with the buyer, even if their fuckery is obvious.

Use a dremel with a small cutoff wheel attachment and cut into the metal on the drain plug. Cut it as deep as you can without touching the Diff or causing other issues. Grab a big flat head screw driver and twist it out. If it's still siezed heat it up. If you dont like this idea, try hammering in a flat head into the stripped plug gently so it will seat and you can twist out the drain plug.

I would agree it has to go both ways. There are most of us who have been on forums similar to TW that already know its gonna take more than 1 post to get you to sell something to them though.

Thats a good idea, thanks...I had a similar thought last night where I took a hammer and gently tapped in a slightly larger hex tool and got it to seat in there pretty snug. Went to turn it and put a fair amount of strength into it, no dice...that fucker is on there tight, which is weird because it's slightly leaking around the plug. Not sure what's going on with it but I need to get it off and see what's up.

I'm afraid if I hammer something in there too hard it'll make the plug more difficult to loosen. I like your idea about using a dremel with a cutoff wheel, I'll give that a try before going the welding route.

I guess worst case scenario I just seal that drain plug permanently and use the fill port to pull old fluid out and put new fluid in lol. Kidding...I hope

I don't know if I'd want to make this a first time welding project. it would suck to weld the plug or nut to the housing lmao

I mean I'd practice on something else first haha. But yeah that would suck. Good thing @Sperrunner has a front diff he can part with...hopefully it's a 4.10

I spent the last few days extracting broken steel bolts in an aluminum dirt bike frame. Talk about a nightmare.
