yessir, 'commercial' photography (fashion advertising and product, mostly). Been doing it for a living for going on 6 years now.

I work full-time for a big brand clothing company nowadays as their in-house photographer, we've got a big photo studio that I head up.

That's pretty dang cool. I have always liked it as a means of being creative because I cannot draw for shit haha. I have been sort of out of it because the AF on my DSLR is wonkey and there aren't a lot of my favorite subjects around where I live now.

I don't do weddings...I've done a couple before and it's a nightmare job, at least for me. I have a lot of respect for wedding photographers though because of it lol

yeah it's a nice gig, unfortunately since going full-time though there are the ups and downs of dealing with the corporate 9-5 show...but we all know how that is. I used to freelance for a few years and while it was great being 'my own boss' (not really, the client is the boss but you know what I mean) I couldn't take the instability of it all. Some months would be awesome and others would be dry, hard to do any long term life planning that way, at least for me.

Love the shots! The first one especially, great colors and composition. I live just a few miles from the famous Santa Anita horse racing track and have thought about heading over there sometime to do a personal project photographing the horses and jockeys. I need to get back into that more, doing it for the fun of it all.

I'm 50/50 torn when it comes to bringing my camera with me on wheeling trips, I see people here doing it and posting awesome photos but for me....wheeling is what I do to get away from work and it almost feels like work to me to bring the camera, lol. Also, trying to use a big expensive DSLR and keeping it from getting ruined while on the trail isn't always easy. I usually make my fiancé take the photos but then I get bummed when they aren't that great, haha. On big trips I always bring my camera and make sure to take some time to capture the good stuff.

I totally get the stability thing, it's the only reason I'm here in AZ haha. You do get a chance to hone a valuable talent which is cool though.

I really love taking shots of the horses, usually super cooperative too if you can click with your mouth haha. The first shot I didn't know who's horse it was and I took that hastily out the window of my truck with half of the settings messed up and it happened to come out great, still proud of that one even though I don't have much reason to be haha.

I'm really impressed with what I see come from the iPhone cameras actually. I have a Samsung S6 i think...had it for a few years. Takes decent photos but I can't get over not being able to control my settings like I can with a DSLR. Works well for taking quick shots though.

There is actually a significant difference from when I was testing it at the dude’s house, up until now after it’s fully restored.

The PO had a 50 foot cord duck taped and spliced to the original 6 foot cord. As you know, the longer the cord - the higher the resistance (or something like that) as a result the welder was noting erratically and not getting proper penetration.

The gun was original as well and it had feeding issues, plus just being beat to absolute hell. I replaced the gun with a Miller demo unit with low hours, and put a new 8 foot cord on and the difference is night and day. I can weld constantly without gettin any feed issues or penetration issues, and the machine just operated more efficiently than it did when I was I was testing it.

haha yeah they're pretty easy once you get the basics down, the real challenge is learning the editing software (Photoshop, Capture One, Lightroom, etc.) and knowing how to use it without going overboard....soooooooo many bad photo edits out there. Digital changed the world of photography in so many ways. The world in general, really...but that's another topic

    Stuff. Also things.
Hobart 210MVP that’s basically brand new from another local TW bro. He has a nearly full bottle of mix gas, cart, hood, gloves, and consumables, too, so it’s basically a turn-key setup.

I desperately need to do my rear relocation and this will allow me to do it myself. Got a ton of practicing to do first, tho.

Pics man! I'm eager to see your rear setup, please post your progress and finished setup in my relocation thread. Wanna have some good examples as I'm sure yours will be. I have two people that would like me to make them one now, so hopefully I'll have some new pics and experience to contribute too.

I used to be really into Videography. My school would hire me out to film events years ago. I had three camera angles going at once with my main film camera on my 12ft ProAm USA Camera Crane. Gotta dig up some pictures of that thing.

I really really wanted to buy a Canon XHA1 prosumer video camera, but it was out of my price range for the longest time. I always just used my Nikon D5200 to film everything with some cheaper Nikon Coolpix cameras getting the alternative angles.

Nice thing about the XHA1 was that it had BNC. I had a converter box at the time than accepted a BNC input and allowed me to use my MacBook Pro as a monitor. Never ended up getting it so I just had this tiny 6” HDMI monitor mouted to my crane.

Here’s how mine looked like, albeit much shorter.

Nice, I've dabbled in video a little bit...we're starting to incorporate it into our website at work so I've had to learn the editing side of it which is wayyyy more complicated than photo editing (in my opinion). Video is a beast all on it's own that's for sure
