That is a new Toyota CYA directive dating back to when peoples' gas pedals were getting caught up with the mats (remember when they were shaving gas pedals?). When I go for service I always pull the mat myself. Even though I installed a floor-hinged gas pedal they still act all paranoid about it.
Basically, if your mat is not somehow "fastened" to the floor they throw a hissy.

I once had a stealership tell me the reason my clutch pedal wasn't returning all the way up was because I had aftermarket floor mats, no joke. They had my truck for two days just to come to that conclusion.

They also wrote up "customer hears pooping noise from rear of vehicle when going over bumps" in the comments section lol. I saved that one.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
That makes sense they're aftermarket mats

I don't know why people rag on F150's. My 2014 XL 4x4 with the coyote has been a dead balls reliable truck and it nearly has 100k.

I see a few 1st gens around my area that are bone stock but have ARB bumpers...I've been tempted to leave notes on them asking if they'd consider selling the bumper.

My taste for Dodge was ruined by a POS Dakota I owned for 2 months when I was 18. Was the 1st truck I ever bought on my own off a shady used car lot...got ripped off on it (of course) and it was a total crap pile. Had a 2.5l 4cyl engine in it and could hardly get up the hill to my neighborhood at the time. If I had to stop for some reason, I'd have to wait for traffic to pass and roll all the way down in neutral and attempt the hill again, lol. Traded it in on my first Tacoma (99 Prerunner) so that part was cool

My dad bought a brand new off the show room dakota same year i was born and it was like the top of the line 4x4 amd i grew up in the back of that. Then he bought another used 4 door dakota after while when he needed a bigger truck. So ive always liked dodge

I'll admit I used to think the early 2000s Dakatoas were an awesome looking truck...loved the styling on them. Would've killed for one of the big v8 ones.

Both my dads dakotas were the hemi v8, pretty fast compared to the yota. And agreed i like the styling just sad that the bad design of the rack and pinion made it really hard to make bolt on lift kits for it. Think only rough country makes some shitty kit for it.
But ive seen pics of some bad ass sas ones.
But ive seen the street truck guys love them, because once you SC the v8 it will give a lighting the run for its money

I can't do that generation of dodges, my friend has coined them the down syndrome years.... I mean I kinda see it too with the two headlights smooshed down lower and very far apart....

The v10 wasn't particularly powerful or relianle much like Ford's stupid v10. The Cummins is the only thing that makes those truck worth any money. They are electrical, transmission, and steering component nightmares

The 12 valve that came in them is probably one of the best cummins engines made
