They’re ALL religious schools. I don’t know a single private elementary or high school that isn’t Catholic, Christian, Jesuit, or Jewish.

Hell my elementary school has a convent. Up until the 1970’s, classes were taught by Nuns.

My high school converted the third floor from the convent to offices. Brothers used to live up there.

Yes yes, I’m a naive millennial who’s suckling on my parent’s income I’ve heard it a million times.

Time will tell. For now, this is my home but I’m sure it’ll change.

Second question: long story. We all turned into @Crodell6 last night.

Most are but around here not all are. They're called non-sectarian private schools.

Im gonna live at home through college and maybe a bit after. No point in wasting money on a place to sleep cuz its "cool". I hate apartments too, I plan on staying at home until I can buy a house.

Good thing you were. Yesterday's shenanigans got annoying & confusing real quick. All our avatars were Miguel's husky sticking out his tongue.

I know, I'm just giving you shit. UCD has on campus married/family housing. My wife's brother and his wife live there. She's doing a PhD there.

    I think I was paying something like $4000 a year at UCD. It's now $14,000 a year.

Of course, back then CSUS was like $400 a year, lol

I think part of the college experience is learning to live on your own. Quite literally that's what college is for: to prepare you for the real world.

I wish that all colleges had work requirements. I've seen so many times that a kid graduates college and has literally never held any type of job. My wife has to remind these kids simple things like showing up on time, doing time sheets, and even just basic office interpersonal relationships, etc... it's disturbing. There was this one girl who kept taking sick days because she would have a fight with her boyfriend and "couldn't come in to work." Jesus girl, get your shit together.

    lol "it's complicated"

    Good for you though.

But I'm not even talking about a job related to your major. I did plenty of cutting and grinding thin sections and lab work (geologist). But I also worked at a grocery store in highschool, and the bike shop thing in college.

I'm talking more just mindless joe jobs like working the drive through, etc... My wife has these people that are so entitled because they've never worked a job where they are literally the lowest person on the totem pole so guess what, YOU get to do all the copying and hole punching. They have trouble being trained how to do certain processes because, well, they've never been trained before.

As it turned out, what got my my current big boy job was my work for the bike shop. I was competing for the position with one other person who was actually a classmate so we were equally educated. I had done a bunch of work with implementing a point of sale computer system at the bike shop, well there was that, and the fact that I seemed like I'd be more fun to have a beer with.

oh my god, this is very real.

my company only hires college grads and some of them don't have any work/internship experience. It's a fucking mess.

One guy referred a girl he went to school with, who pursued him and convinced him to break up with his GF of 5 years. They lasted a month before she dumped him, then she referred another guy who she had dated for 3 years (!!!!) who got hired despite myself and 4 other interviewers saying no for technical and the previously mentioned reasons. it's a social mess. Aside from the mental/emotional gymnastics involved they're a bunch of children who don't clean up after themselves and do common courtesys like replacing paper towels, throwing away their own fucking trash, and cleaning up spills etc.

Same girl is standing in the kitchen and says "there's no clean cups, what should we do?" uhhh... wash one? start the full of dirty dishes dishwasher??? Same girl trips breaker in kitchen and is standing around with 2 exes and a couple other people hmmming and hawing about who would do something. They left and I notified the property management (we don't have access to breakers) when I went to lunch 2 hours later

One guy who worked here 3 months had his first review. He was asked to bring some goals. I shit you not, in 3 months he neither found office supplies (they're not even hidden ??) nor asked anyone so this dude in his 20s grabs a big red expo from a conference room and a piece of paper from someone's trash. Goal 1: write better goals. Goal 2: work on a project. Same guy asks when he is going to become a manager. When asked about the marker/paper he said his desk didnt' come with any office supplies :poking:

needless to say I'm looking for another job. I should blog all of this because there's even more hahahahaha :help:
