I swear I will never buy another vehicle from anywhere north of NC. The simplest jobs are hellish because of the rust. 1217181559a.jpg
That tiny amount of rust on the end of the studs gave me hell trying to get the nut off. Oh well, new ones in and I doused it in fluid film to prevent this from occuring again. 1217181551.jpg
And the Napa Proformer brand is way better than the oem link. Grease fittings and a wrench flat on the back as a backup to the hex key thing.

In my experience, you are better off slathering the nut and bolt with Permatex anti-seize, rather than Fluid Film. I removed my trailer hitch after about 12 years, and the inside of the bolts were still shiny. And that is 12 years here in New York, rust capitol of the country!!

Just the ends, and it was enough to make it a sucky job. Remember, the nuts on these are those oval shaped locking ones too.

I just held em with a wrench and used the Allen on an impact to drive em out so I didn't have to turn the locking nut.

I tried that. Just stripped the allen thing out. Ended up holding the boot side with vice grips and using a socket on the impact to get it off. Took a few tries as the vice grips kept slipping. I remember cutting the passenger side off when I did it. It was way more rusty.

I need to stop being lazy and build a nice quick disconnect for my sway bar so I can hook it back up

I think he's referring to that it's not really a big deal to deal with the rust, not that the rust isn't there...

But I think you're all missing the main point anyway: what pansy still runs with their swaybar still on? :D

Mine wasn't rusty at all, and it probably took longer to unbolt everything. I should'a just torched it all off...

Wasn't too bad before running a locked rear because that exaggerates the body roll too
