If I were to send you a machined alum part do you think you could replicate it in say steel or iron. I'm getting dorky here but I like weighted shift knobs but I want the stock knob in my Z, there's a collar on the shifter that is used to hold the boot but it is aluminum and removable. I figure if I change that to say a dense steel or maybe iron that would have the desired effect without ruining the look.

The conical thing on the shifter lever is what I'm talking about. It is removable and slides on and retained by a snap ring that goes on the shaft, not the part, so it is relatively simple as far as parts go.

 

that should definetly be a simple piece to turn on a lathe... ive done stuff like that before. (damn i miss having access to machines lol)

 

Yeah, sounds like it shouldn't be a problem for me to make. If you can send me better pics of it I can tell you for sure. Mainly just wondering if there's a groove or anything inside the bore or on faces/ends.

I woke up at 3 and spent an hour trying , time to commit to the day. This is a 2-3x a week thing that I've had going on for years unfortunately
