CAT5 is the best cable ever. You can use it for damn well anything you want.

You can use it to run HDMI, or integrated control systems, control remote equipment, or blah blah blah.

I used some CAT5 to make a prototyping harness for my musical floppy drive array.

Here’s what I ended up. I braided 24AWG stranded wires, and used DuPont connectors.

Should have adapted the female side and used the pre assembled cat5 male/male rj45 cables as interconnects

    Oooh that’s smart. Haha.

Those DuPont connectors worked pretty damn well. Exactly what I needed for my purposes.

Looks like a lot of it was Daisy chained, if they physically touch you can cheat and use pogopins or little spring contacts

Each floppy drive had two individual pins on the Arduino. One for the stepper motor Step instruction, and one for the Direction instruction. I had two Arduinos running eight floppy drives each to make a total of 16 to max out each track on the MIDI scale.

Only thing daisychained is 5v rail power. Not proud of that harness, could’ve done better on it. My blue and yellow harness though, hnggggg.

My ex girlfriend was stunned I knew how to French braid. I didn’t have the heart to tell her it was from braiding hundreds of feet of wire.

You'll really impress them if you can fishtail braid. I used to get bored while waiting in between students where I volunteered and fishtail the horses manes and tails.

Yeah that one is tuff, haha. Braided cables look so beautiful. I could’ve saved a lot of wire and time by just running it straight with some zip ties, but that’s no fun.

Yeah I'd just use ribbon cables for that

    I had a whole box of IDE/PATA cables I could've used.

But it's ugly. Damn ugly. I brought this thing to fairs and shows and shit so I wanted it to look good.

Walking into my high school with a rifle case probably wasn't the best idea in retrospect. The outside of it looks like a gun case, and the inside looks like a bomb. Haha.

I just got a set of KC Hilite C2 Leds from the TWSS. I want to mount them somewhere under my rear bumper, but I'm having trouble finding a place that they could actually bolt to. Any ideas?

The bumper plastic honestly. If you want more rigidity, put a steel bar under there. That’s how I mounted the lights in my buddy’s 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

I actually found a few open holes that nothing was bolting into, but I couldn't get access to the top of it (I'm not sure if taking off the bumper itself would give me better access or not).

You better take the bumper off. I had to when I did it on the Jeep.

Alright, thanks. Also, the wiring harness that came with the lights isn't quite long enough to reach the back of my truck, so I'll need an extension. What exactly could I look for at a local store, so I wouldn't have to order them online and wait for them to be shipped. Here's the part online: http://www.kchilites.com/accessories/wiring/wire-extension.html
And what would be the best way to run the wire from the battery to the back?

You only need to run two wires to the cab for he switch. Use butt connectors and matching gauge wire to extend or shorten. I recommend you use full stranded copper wire instead of the cheapo copper clad aluminum wire.
