One of my worst hangovers ever was definitely because of multiple redbull vodkas and no water the summer after I turned 21

Ouch...sorry to hear. If it isn't terrible you might be able to tap the hex plug in with a hammer and open it that way. I ended up notching the plug with a small cutoff wheel on my Dremel and then tapped it counter clockwise to loosen it

Naw I mean just get the hex socket in there good with a hammer and try to loosen it...the metal is so soft you might be able to get it to grip that way. Mine was rounded so bad it was impossible though.

I was nervous about the Dremel route at first but it proved to be really easy in the end, worth a try before going the welding route...I was afraid if I tried that then I'd weld the plug to the diff. But a lot of people do do it that way

yeah sorry that's what I meant by hex plug/socket, a key...or one of these things that attaches to your socket wrench (10mm hex key)

    husky-sockets-h3dhbs10mm-64_1000.jpg

hammer it in gently until it grabs the metal inside the drain plug, might get it to grab enough that it loosens the plug, or at least makes it easier to take off via another method

I got mine to loosen enough that it would start to seep gear oil after a couple days around the plug, but not loose enough that I could get it off...until I notched it with a dremel and hammered it loose. Actually I used a small chisel and hammered the back of it a few times which popped the plug loose

I just used a 10mm until it was so rounded that it wouldn't grab anymore, but I actually did think about getting an 11mm and trying that. Didn't end up needing to but that might work

just make sure you have a new one ready to go in, lol. I had a hell of a time finding one out here, but then again here in SoCal dealers don't stock as many 4x4 parts as they probably do up there. Had to order mine and wait a week or so.
